One thing I've learned in 60+ years of life, is to expect the unexpected. Just when I think I know exactly how things are going to go and that my plan will work, life throws me a curve ball. This week has been nothing less than perplexing and surprising. When last we talked, we had stumbled (and I mean, STUMBLED) upon a little house with some property (less than an acre) in the area we love. Not at all what we thought we were looking for, but this little cottage is adorable. It has been completely redone inside and out - new paint, new flooring, nice cabinets, and counter tops, BRAND new AC, and a three year old metal roof the exact color we always wanted. We're calling the outside a blank slate. It's freshly painted but very plain, which stirs excitement in my decorator heart. All it needs is shutters, some landscaping - a little bling - and it will be the cutest little cottage! You may be wondering why we're perplexed when it sounds so great. Here's the thing - we still have months to go on our rental lease, a commitment to help a family member, and not much money, but it seems so RIGHT that we believe all the issues will be cleared up and filed away one-by-one.
